Baseball: Bulldogs Fall Versus Long Beach, 9-3

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College baseball team dropped a non-conference contest at home against Long Beach City College on Tuesday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

The Vikings (2-1) jumped out early with a grand slam in the opening frame after sending a shot over the wall in left-center. Stephen Espinoza used an RBI single to put the Bulldogs (1-2) on the board in the fourth before Jesse Conrade and Tommy Kendlinger cut the deficit to one with one RBI apiece in the same frame. Both teams were scoreless through the midway point before LBCC caught fire with five unanswered runs across the final three innings en route to the victory.

Kendlinger led the way for the home squad at the plate with a 5-for-5 showing, which included four singles and a double. Black Edgmon was the only other member of the program to register multiple hits on the day after notching two doubles.

Austin Moccardini earned the start and was charged with his first loss of the season on the bump. He struck out four batters but allowed four earned runs on six hits after five innings of work.

The Bulldogs are currently scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 3rd, at home against the College of the Canyons (pending inclement weather in the forecast). Single-game tickets for the contest, which is scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM on John Osborne Field, can be purchased at ahcbulldogs.com/ticketing. As per usual, the ticketing gate will be cashless and fans are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets prior to arrival, but credit/debit card purchases can be made at the gate.
