Eddie Garcia enters his fifth season with the baseball squad in 2024. 

Garcia has spent more than two decades coaching youth baseball in the Santa Maria community. His 2013 Southside team made one of the biggest runs by a Santa Maria Valley Little League All-Star team in recent memory. That Major Division group, which included several players who were prominent in area baseball later, distinguished itself with quality pitching and power hitting. Southside rolled to the District 65 (5-0) and Section I (4-0) tournament championships.

Garcia's son, Trevor, had a historic career at Santa Maria High School before spending three seasons with the Bulldogs. The 2021 All-State honoree moved on to continue his career at Fresno State University.
