Bio

 Cody Smith-ASSISTANT COACH

             Another graduate of the Allan Hancock College baseball program, Cody Smith is starting his third year as an assistant coach at Hancock. Smith was an All-League baseball and football player at St. Joseph High School in Santa Maria before moving on to pitch for the Bulldogs.

            At Hancock, Smith was an All-American as a sophomore in 2002. That year he was 6-5 with a 3.73 ERA and 50 strikeouts. He received a scholarship to play for Fresno State where he became a second team All-Western Athletic Conference pitcher and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.  Smith signed a contract with the Texas Rangers in 2003 and has played for the Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres organizations.

            Smith lives in Santa Maria with his wife Hallie and daughter Audra.
