Receiver Scott Cathcart Accepts Offer to Play at Louisiana Tech

Allan Hancock College graduate Scott Cathcart (Santa Maria, St. Joseph)is reporting for practice at Louisiana Tech University in just a matter of weeks as he prepares to hit the field as a starting receiver for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. A former Hancock Bulldog, Cathcart was the only receiver in the Western State Conference to receive a unanimous first team selection in 2010. He is an All-State player who caught an average of 91 yards per game for the Bulldogs last season. He led the team in receiving yards and scored six touchdowns.
Despite an injury that kept him out for half the season in 2009, Cathcart was a second team All-Conference selection his freshman season and caught an average of 60 yards per game. Cathcart is a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Santa Maria and earned an associate degree in liberal arts from Allan Hancock College.
KCOY anchor Dave Alley had the opportunity to ask Cathcart a few more questions before he caught a plane to Louisiana:
