Bulldog Football Gets a Win Against Glendale

    The Bulldogs and the Glendale Vaqueros were neck and neck for most of the game but the Bulldogs pulled away in the fourth quarter and walked away with the win. The final score was 44-28. 

    Glendale had two touchdowns in the second qurter and the Bulldogs one touchdown, a four-yard run by Andy Bridge (Paso Robles) and a 27 yard field goal kicked by Jared Miller (Santa Maria) making the score 14-10 Glendale going into the half. 

    Hancock came out strong in the second half with Johnathan Ligsay scoring off of a five yard pass from Gavin Kelly (Santa Maria). Glendale scored once more and then were answered by another touchdown, this time a two yard run by sophomore Ryan Anglin (Santa Maria). Going into the fourth quarter the Bulldogs led 24-21. 

    Bridge gave the Bulldogs a more comfortable lead, with a one yard run for a touchdown in the first few minutes of the fourth quarter but once again, Glendale scored one of their own and the score was 31-28. Hancock did not want another close game though, and in the end they didn't get one. Ligsay scored on a one-yard run and then Favian Vargas (Lompoc) had the play of the game with an interception and 55-yard run for a toiuchdown with one minute left in the game.             

       Quarterback Gavin Kelly was the offensive MVP, John Sua (Santa Maria), defensive MVP and Chris Nichols (Arroyo Grande) was the special teams MVP of the game.
