Bulldog Football Falls to Bakersfield 7-29

The Bulldogs had to wait until to second half, but they got on the board when quarterback Seth Tripod (Paragould) dove into the corner of the end zone to bring the score to 7-17. The Renegades opened up the scoring in the first quarter and continued to dominate, winning with a score of 29-7.
Hancock got close to the goal line in the third quarter after Tripod threw a 36 yard pass to Scott Cathcart (Santa Maria), but the Renegades defense was able to push them back.  Hancock was able to get within ten yards of goal again in the fourth quarter after a 23-yard run by Ryan Anglin (Santa Maria) brought the team within 10 yards of the end zone. A chop block penalty on the next play pushed the team back 15 yards and an incomplete pass to Anglin ended that drive for the Bulldogs.
Jovan Davis (Orcutt) led the Bulldogs in rushing yards with 43. Cathcart had seven receptions for a total of 115 yards. Bakersfield had 18 first downs for the game, the Bulldogs followed with 16.
This was the Bulldog’s first conference game of the season. Their record is now 3-3 overall and 0-1 in conference. Bakersfield College was 4-1 going into the game and is now 5-1 overall and 1-0 in conference.
