Five More Football Players Commit to Four-Year Universities

    Five additional Allan Hancock College football players have committed to play for four-year universities next season.
    
    Jose Lopez, an All-Conference and All-Regional player for the Bulldogs, will suit up for the Division II Pumas at St. Joseph’s College of Indiana in the fall. Lopez graduated from Paso Robles High School and started on the Hancock offensive line for two seasons. Defensive end Kepa Nakaahiki is also headed to a Division II school. He will be playing for the Mavericks at Colorado Mesa University. Nakaahiki was a second team All-Conference selection for the Bulldogs with 20 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.

    Atascadero native, linebacker Tanner Kuhnle, will be joining his former teammate Kris Dearie at Dakota State University. Offensive lineman Sean Brown, a graduate of Arroyo Grande High School, has signed to play for the University of Montana Western Bulldogs. Righetti High School graduate Jared Miller is also staying a Bulldog, this time for Union College, in Barbourville, Kentucky.

    This latest group of players joins their teammates who have previously committed to four-year universities, including: Christopher Wheeler, Weber State; T.J. Jordan, Robert Morris University; Kris Dearie, Dakota State University; and Coleman McArthur, Colorado State University, Pueblo.

    The 2011 Allan Hancock College football team finished the season 7-4 and earned the title of Western State Bowl champions. The Bulldog’s 2012 season starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 31, at Santa Barbara City College.
