Hancock Football's Malik Williams Named to All-California Team

Allan Hancock College football player Malik Williams has scored All-State honors. The sophomore was named to the All-California First Team Offense in Region III by the California Community Colleges Football Coaches Association. Region III includes every team in the Southern California Football Association's National Division, which is comprised of the Northern, Southern and Central conferences.

The 6'2", 220 pound sophomore led the state by averaging 198.6 all-purpose yards per game and was a threat to score on every kick that went in his direction.  Williams returned 10 kickoffs for 361 yards for an average of 36.1 yards. He returned one kick 96 yards to set up the game-winning touchdown at Bakersfield in Hancock's conference opener.

Williams also averaged 13.7 yards per punt return. He returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown in the home opener against Santa Ana.

The sophomore also stepped in at running back for Hancock in the third game due to injuries to teammates. He went on to lead the team with 525 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 5.6 yards per carry.  He also finished with 18 receptions for 217 yards and one touchdown catch.

Williams was named to the All-Conference First Team on both offense (running back) and defense (punt returner).

The North Carolina native has already received scholarship offers from Texas State, Purdue, Southeastern Louisiana and University of Alabama-Birmingham.
