Football's Mark Rodriguez Headed to Whittier College

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College quarterback, Mark Rodriguez, has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at Whittier College next season.

"When I first stepped onto campus at Whittier, it felt like home. The campus was beautiful and the environment was electric," shared Rodriguez. "They also have really good academic programs that match well with what I want to do with my career after football."

The Santa Maria native spent one season with the Bulldogs and earned the starting quarterback spot in the season opener before seeing his freshman campaign end early due to injury. Prior to joining the AHC squad, Rodriguez participated as a dual-sport athlete at Mission College Prep as a member of the football and basketball programs.

"My time at AHC was unbelievable and prepared me tremendously for the next level, both on and off the field. The whole coaching staff has always shown tremendous support throughout my time at Hancock along with the Bulldog community as a whole," added Rodriguez. "I want to give a special shoutout to both Coach Damron and Coach Dutra for always believing in me and pushing me to be the best version of myself. I'm very honored to be able to call myself a Bulldog."

Whittier College, located in Whittier, Calif., is a Division III member of the NCAA and competes in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
