Bio

Ed Herrmann returns for his fifth season back with the Bulldogs in 2023. He joined the coaching staff after spending six seasons as head coach at Ernest Righetti High School where he led the Warriors to five  CIF playoff appearances.  
 
Herrmann, an East Coast native, played for three undefeated teams at Central Bucks West High School as a running back and defensive back. He attended and played football for Delaware Valley University where a shoulder injury ended his playing career.
 
Herrmann started coaching on the Central Coast in 1992 at Righetti High School before joining the staff at Hancock for six seasons (1995-2000) as the wide receivers coach. He also served as an assistant coach at Lompoc High School where he helped the team win two CIF championships. Herrmann returned to the coaching staff for the Bulldogs in 2005 for five seasons. During this stint, Herrmann rotated duties as the wide receivers coach, special teams coordinator, and offensive coordinator. In 2017, Herrmann was recognized as the Coach of the Year while serving at the helm of the Righetti squad. In total, Herrmann has accumulated 17 seasons on the sidelines for the Bulldogs.
