Hancock MenŐs Basketball Team Ranked Top in Western State Conference

        The men’s basketball team is leading the Western State Conference with a 10-4 pre-season record. The team is currently ranked 15th in Southern California in the California Community College Coaches Association Poll. The Bulldogs play at home on Dec. 28 in the annual Allan Hancock College Holiday Classic tournament before starting conference play on Jan. 4 against Moorpark College.
               
         The Bulldogs are working with a deep roster this season and many of the team’s starters are currently ranked in the top ten in the conference. Jordan O'Byrne (Lompoc ) leads the team in scoring, putting up an average of 22 points per game for the Bulldogs. He is second in the conference in scoring with 244 total points.

        Taylor Pruett (Arroyo Grande) is currently leading the conference in rebounding and was recently named All-Tournament at the Sequoias Tournament Dec. 16-18. He averages 11.3 rebounds per game. Abraham Millsap (St. Thomas More Prep) is ranked third in rebounding and averages 8.6 rebounds per game. Millsap is also ranked fifth in assists, averaging 5.7 per game. O’Byrne and Pruett are currently tied for tenth in assists. Alex MacNeil (Crescent Valley) and Millsap are also tied for tenth in the conference for their three-point percentage. MacNeil also boasts the team’s best free throw percentage, at 81.5 percent.
