Men's Basketball Moves up in State Rankings, Abe Millsap is WSC Player of the Week

On the heels of a tournament championship at the annual Allan Hancock College Holiday tournament, the Bulldogs have moved up in the rankings from 15th to 12th in Southern California in the California Community College Men’s Basketball Coaches Association Poll. The Bulldogs are now 13-4 and still ranked at the top of the Western State Conference going into conference play tonight at 7 p.m. against Moorpark College at the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
 
Sophomore forward Abraham Millsap (St. Thomas More Prep) was named the WSC player of the week for his performance in the Bulldog Classic. Millsap scored 52 points in three games with 26 rebounds, nine assists and 11 steals, including 28 points against Rio Hondo College.                                                          
 
Millsap was named Co-MVP of the tournament along with Taylor Pruett (Arroyo Grande), who is currently leading the conference in rebounds with 150 total, an average of 10.7 a game. Jordan O'Byrne (Lompoc ) was named All-Tournament and is currently leading the WSC in scoring with 330 total points, an average of 19.4 per game. Freshman gaurd Alex MacNeil (Crescent Valley)also had a great tournament and is currently ranked third in the conference in three-point percentage, making 23 of 47 for a 48.9 percentage.
