Hancock Youth Basketball Club Announces Schedule for Spring Clinics and Spring League

Allan Hancock College men's basketball head coach Tyson Aye has announced the spring schedule for youth clinics and a basketball league as part of the Hancock Youth Basketball Club.

"We want to continue building the club and our momentum," said Aye, who guided the Bulldogs to a share of the conference championship this season. "Last year, more than 100 area kids attended our clinics and played in our fall league. We want to continue kids playing and watching basketball in our gym year-round."

The Hancock Youth Basketball Club league runs for six weeks from April 6 through May 11, 2015. Games will take place on Mondays from 4-9:30 p.m. inside Joe White Memorial Gymnasium on the Santa Maria campus. The league features divisions for varsity, junior varsity, as well as one combined division for seventh/eighth grades. Each division must have at least four teams or it will be canceled. Each team is guaranteed eight games.

The fee to register a team is $400. If an organization is registering more than one team, the fee for the additional squads will be $380 apiece. To register a team for the spring league, click here.

The club will host skill development clinics on Wednesday evenings starting on March 25 and continuing through May 13. The clinics are intended for children eight to 17 years of age, and run from 6:30-8 p.m.

Aye, his coaching staff and players will teach kids basic basketball fundamentals and further develop their skills. The price to attend a clinic is $20 per child or $110 up front to attend all eight clinics. To register children for the clinics, sign up at the gym prior to the start of a clinic or click here.
