Bio

Fermin will return to the Bulldogs sideline as an Associate Head Coach for the men's basketball program during the 2023-24 season. He returns to Hancock after spending two seasons at the helm of the Porterville College men's basketball program, where he led the Pirates to two consecutive playoff appearances while accruing an overall record of 37-21 during his tenure.

Prior to taking over at Porterville, Fermin served as the lead assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Hancock for five seasons (2015-21). During that time, the Bulldogs made three postseason appearances while sending nearly 40 athletes on to compete at the next level.

Fermin, a native of New York who was born in the Dominican Republic, began his playing career at the junior college level before landing at the NCAA Division I level as a member of the Cal Poly (SLO) program. After college, Fermin spent time as a professional athlete while playing for the Dominican Republic National Team alongside the likes of NBA players Al Horford, Karl Anthony Towns, and Francisco Garcia, and brought home the CentroBasket Championships Gold Medal in 2012.
