Bulldogs Blank Monterey Peninsula on the Road

MONTEREY, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer program picked up its first win of the season in a 4-0 shutout victory over Monterey Peninsula College on Tuesday evening. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (1-2-1) jumped out early in the first half of action with a three-goal showing from Landon Smith (6th minute), Erick Cardenas (23rd minute), and Sean Soltan (28th minute) and entered the intermission with a hefty lead. Jehu Garcia Jr registered the lone goal for either side in the 52nd minute of action. TJ Vinnedge earned a win in the box with limited action, as the Lobos (0-4) were held without a shot on frame in the match.

As a team, Hancock recorded a season-high showing of 14 shots on target and finished with 23 total attempts. Christian Aparicio and Bryan Gomez led the offensive barrage with four strikes apiece, followed by Myles Baro who registered three. Smith and Jehu Garcia Jr also finished in the group of attackers who finished with multiple attempts as each registered two shots on goal. 

Hancock is scheduled to resume action on Friday, September 10th, with a home showing against Taft College. The match is set to begin at 4 PM on Allan Hancock Field.
