Men's Soccer Drops Road Showing at Canyons

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer team dropped a road contest at College of the Canyons on Friday afternoon in a 2-1 decision. | BOX SCORE

The Cougars (4-4-3) scored in the first two-minute of action, but Bryan Gomez cut the deficit in the 37th minute on an unassisted shot that found the back of the goal. Canyons opened the second half with another early goal to win the contest, netting the game-winner in the 47th minute.  

Hancock (1-7-1) was outshot 16-10 in the contest and lost the corner kick battle at a 6-3 margin. Juan Montelongo led the offensive attempts for the Bulldogs with four shots in the game while placing three on frame. Gomez followed with three attempts while Anthony Morales, Edgar Garces, and Sean Soltan each attempted one. TJ Vinnedge finished the contest with 10 saves through 90 minutes of action in the box for Hancock.  

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, October 5th, with a road trip to Glendale for their final non-conference contest of the season.
