Men's Soccer Falls in Home Showing with Santa Barbara

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer program opened the conference slate with a 4-1 loss to Santa Barbara City College at home on Tuesday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

The Vaqueros (7-2-2 | 1-0 WSC) jumped ahead early with three goals in the opening half of action and tacked on a fourth in the first 30 seconds of action after the intermission. Hancock's lone goal came in the 73rd minute off the foot of Josue Celio after a pass from the right sideline from Jehu Garcia Jr

As a team, Santa Barbara outshot the hosts at a 21-14 margin and won the corner kick battle with a 6-2 advantage. Celio led the Bulldogs (1-8-2 | 0-1 WSC) with three shot attempts while placing two on frame en route to his second goal of the season. Edgar Garces also registered multiple attempts with two shots in the contest. TJ Vinnedge grabbed six saves but was charged with the loss after 90 minutes in the box.

Hancock will continue the conference slate with a road trip to Santa Monica on Friday, October 15th.
