Celio's Late Goal Lifts Bulldogs over Moorpark

MOORPARK, Calif. - A late goal by Jose Celio led the Allan Hancock College men's soccer team to victory in a 3-2 decision over Moorpark on Tuesday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

Juan Montelongo opened the contest with a quick goal in the first five minutes of action after converting a pass from Jose Espinoza. Eli Zuniga doubled the lead in the 35th minute after connecting on a pass from Edgar Garces. The Raiders (7-9-1 | 1-4 WSC) bounced back after the intermission with a pair of goals in the 50th and 60th minutes, knotting the score. Celio lifted the Bulldogs (2-11-2 | 1-4 WSC) to victory in the 90th minute after sneaking a shot from Jose Perez past the keeper to avoid the draw. 

Montelongo led the offensive effort for the squad as the lone Bulldog to record multiple shot attempts in the contest, finishing the evening with four tries. Hancock also controlled the effort from the edge of the field with a slim 5-4 advantage over Moorpark on corner kicks. TJ Vinnedge was credited with the win after collecting seven saves through 90 minutes of action in the box. 

The Bulldogs are scheduled to continue league action with a road trip to Santa Barbara on Friday, October 29th.
