Men's Soccer: Josue Celio Commits to University of Antelope Valley

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College men's soccer midfielder, Josue Celio, has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at the University of Antelope Valley next season.

"I chose UAV because they reached out to me, not the other way around. The interest they had for me made me feel wanted," shared Celio. "When I visited their school, I felt like it would be the best fit for me because it is small. In my mind, it is a place that will help me focus more on both school and soccer."

The Arroyo Grande High School alum has spent two seasons on the field with the Bulldogs and he was the lone member of the men's squad to collect First Team All-Conference honors in the fall. Celio closed his second season with a total of 16 points after registering seven goals, including one game-winner, and two assists through 19 games. Throughout his career at AHC, Celio has accumulated 19 points with a total of eight goals and three assists after seeing action in 38 games.

"My time at Allan Hancock, along with the guidance of Coach Billy, really helped me get my name out there. I was invited to attend the CCCSCA Sophomore Showcase in December, which led to the connection with UAV," Celior added. "I just want to give a shoutout to all of the coaches I've been fortunate enough to have throughout the years. They've all molded me into the person and player I am today."

The University of Antelope Valley, located in Lancaster, is a member of the NAIA and competes in the California Pacific Conference.
