Men's Soccer: Bryan Gomez Commits to San Francisco State

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College men's soccer midfielder and defender, Bryan Gomez, has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at San Francisco State University next season.

"I chose San Francisco State because I felt like it was the best fit for me and I love the city," Gomez shared. "Visiting San Francisco made me realize that living out there was a dream for me, and being able to go and play for that school was just an experience that I couldn't miss out on."

Gomez has spent two countable, three total, seasons in a Bulldogs uniform. The Guadalupe native was a Second Team All-Conference selection in the fall after registering one goal and two assists while serving as a captain for the squad. This marked the second postseason accolade of his collegiate career after also being tabbed as a first team selection in 2019. Throughout his career at AHC, the Santa Maria High School alum has accumulated 24 points after notching a total of 10 goals and four assists through 45 games.

"I feel like my time at Hancock really helped me prepare for the next level by requiring more and more. Taking online classes was a challenge that I enjoyed tackling, and I believe that it made me more responsible," Gomez added. "Spending time on the field with the team really helped me a lot because my teammates would push me to become a better player every day."

San Francisco State is a Division II member of the NCAA and competes in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
