Men's Soccer: Bulldogs Drop 3-2 Decision to Glendale

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss to Glendale Community College on Friday afternoon at the AHC Soccer Field. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (1-5) struck first when Sean Soltan connected with a cross from Jose Herrera in the 3rd minute of play to put the home squad ahead early. Glendale (4-2-1) bounced back with a goal in the 22nd minute to even the playing field before taking the lead in the 35th with an awkward shot that rebounded off of a player and into the goal. Jose Perez leveled things once more in the 44th minute thanks to an assist from Jose Espinoza, but the Vaqueros responded with the final goal for either side in the 55th. 

Hancock held a 27-14 shot attempt advantage over the visitors with both programs placing 10 tries on target. Perez led the effort by placing three shots on goal while Jose Baro, Jesus Hinojosa, and Sean Soltan each registered two attempts on frame. 

Luis Garcia earned his first start of the season in the box for the home squad. He collected seven saves and allowed three goals through 90 minutes of action. 

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Tuesday, September 20th, in a home showing against Hartnell College. The game is scheduled to begin at 2 PM on the AHC Soccer Field.
