Men's Soccer Places Six on All-Conference List

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - After earning a fourth place finish in the Western State Conference (North), the Allan Hancock College men's soccer program has placed six members of the team on the all-conference squad. 

Eric Diaz and Jose Perez headlined the list of honorees after claiming First Team All-Conference nods. Diaz, a Cabrillo High School alum, started in all 18 of his appearances and played a critical role on defense for the Bulldogs. Perez, a native of Oceano, ended the season with 20 points after registering eight goals and four assists through 15 games.

Jose Espinoza and Jesus Hinojosa landed on the Second Team All-Conference list after solid showings throughout the season. Espinoza, a Santa Maria native, tallied 20 points on the season after recording nine goals and two assists through 17 games. Hinojosa notched five goals and five assists during his sophomore campaign, totaling 15 points, while leading the Hancock squad as a midfielder. 

Oscar Monroy and Luis Garcia rounded out the list of award winners after collecting Honorable Mention recognition. Monroy started in 17 of his 18 appearances on the season and served as a defensive pillar on the backline. Garcia collected 88 saves after making 14 appearances in the box for Coach Vinnedge's squad. 

The Bulldogs closed the season with an overall record of 4-13-3 and a 3-6-1 mark against league opponents.
