Britanie Smith Breaks School Record in the Triple Jump
    FreshmanBritanie Smith (Santa Maria, CA) broke the school record and won first place at the Easter Relays held at Santa Barbara City College on March 26. Her 11.5 meter triple jump beat the record held by Kenna Wolter, who has since moved on to win the long jump and triple jump for the University of Dakota in the school’s indoor conference finals in February, 2010. Smith also finished second in the long jump, with a 5.6 meter jump. 

    Also at Santa Barbara, Jay-Ar Agapay (Maui, HI), a freshman, won the high jump with a jump of 1.95 meters. Douglas Webb (Ocala, FL) won the 100-meter sprint with a time of 11.8 and finished fifth overall in the triple jump (13.42m) and fifth overall in the long jump (6.65m). Freshman Alejandro Leyva (Avenal, CA) finished second in the javelin (49.28m) and sophomore Shane Soden (Orcutt, CA ) finished second in the 400-meter hurdles (56.4).
