Nocis Finishes Ninth in Men's Hammer at CCCAA State Championship

WALNUT, Calif. - Jessup Nocis closed out a successful season as the lone representative of the Allan Hancock College track & field program at the 2022 CCCAA State Championship. 

Nocis, a Santa Maria native, qualified for the big stage in the men's hammer throw after a 3rd place mark at the SoCal Regional Qualifiers earlier this month. At the state meet, he earned a 9th place finish with a heave of 42.19 meters in the event.

Nocis has totaled 12 top ten finishes in the hammer throw this season, including one 1st place performance at the Western State Conference North Meet. He opened the season with a 32.92 meter mark in the first event of the year and improved to a season-best throw, which came at the SoCal Regional event, of 43.94 meters.
