Track & Field: Bulldogs Compete at SoCal Finals, Moody Advances to State Meet

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track & field team will be represented by one individual at the 2023 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championship this weekend. The event will be hosted at Modesto Junior College on May 19-20.

Three student-athletes competed for the Bulldogs at the Southern California Finals in three events last weekend. Nasim Moody headlined the group of Bulldogs and advanced to the state meet by placing fifth in the men's long jump after a final mark and new personal record of 6.95 meters.

Cesar Ruiz and Reann Booker also appeared in the SoCal Finals but did not place high enough for advancement. Ruiz used a heave of 36.30 meters in the men's discus to place 20th. Booker, the lone qualifier from the women's program, landed just outside of the qualifying field with a 9th place finish (12.40 seconds) in the 100 meter dash race.

Moody's event is scheduled to begin at approximately 1 PM on Saturday, May 20th. All information related to the state meet, such as live links and final results, can be found by clicking here
