Bio

Rucker enters his ninth year coaching hurdlers and jumpers on the Hancock track and field team. He also coaches football and track at Nipomo High School, and during the spring season devotes his time to both teams.

Rucker moved to Santa Maria from Santa Barbara in 2002. While living in Santa Barbara, he coached youth football and also helped coach at Dos Pueblos High School.

A former track athlete himself, Rucker ran and played football for the University of Mississippi. At Ole Miss he specialized in the 400 and 200 meter races and had personal best times of 46.42, and 20.75 respectively.

Before being recruited by the University of Mississippi, Rucker ran track and played football at Antelope Valley College where he ran the 200 with times in the low 21’s and the 400 with a best time of 47.8. He also represented his team in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Rucker graduated from Antelope Valley High School where he was a three-year letterman competing in football, basketball and track.
