Cross Country Competes at WSC Preview

MOORPARK, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Western State Conference Preview Meet on Friday afternoon. | COMPLETE RESULTS

The men's program was led by Luis Diaz, who recorded a 27th place finish out of 86 competitors, after recording a time of 23:08. Jose Cardenas was the next Bulldog to cross the finish line in 43rd place with a time of 24:14. Efrain Santos (46th | 24:52), Orlando Marin (53rd | 25:25), Samuel Santos (70th | 28:25), and Armando Guzman (79th | 29:59) also clocked times that factored into the final team scoring.

On the women's side, Sierra Skinner led the pack with a 28th place finish after recording a time of 23:37. Yasmin Mendez (42nd | 26:40), Nicki Lucero (43rd | 26:46), and Yolanda De Jesus (53rd | 40:37) also raced at the event. 

The men's program earned a sixth-place finish out of eight programs after recording a score of 172. The women's team did not qualify for a team score.

Both programs will return to action on Friday, October 22nd, at the 2021 Western State Conference Championship. The event is set to take place at Legg Lake Park in South El Monte.
