Short-Handed Bulldogs Fall Twice at Glendale Crossover

GLENDALE, Calif. - The short-handed Allan Hancock College women's basketball team dropped a pair of contests over the weekend while participating in the Glendale Crossover event. The losses move the Bulldogs to 8-5 on the season.

GAME ONE - GLENDALE def. ALLAN HANCOCK, 53-40 | BOX SCORE

Offensive production sputtered in the opening frame of game one as the hosts from Glendale outscored the Bulldogs, 14-3, and built a lead that they would hold through to the end. Both teams finished the night shooting just above 36 percent from the field, but Hancock was cold from distance after going 0-for-9 from the three-point line. Carlissa Solorio led the team as the lone double figure finisher after registering 14 points and 11 rebounds.

GAME TWO - CANYONS def. ALLAN HANCOCK, 72-65 | BOX SCORE

Coach Nerelli's squad began to bounce back on day two against College of the Canyons after a strong 20-11 first quarter showing, but entered the intermission with a slim three-point advantage. The Cougars were able to complete their comeback attempt and put the game away in the third frame after limiting the Bulldogs to just 11 points. Both teams finished the contest with a 40 percent mark from the field and hit three shots from distance, but Canyons proved to be more efficient from the charity stripe after making 71 percent of their attempts compared to 60 percent from AHC.

Alexandria Paquet led the offensive effort after posting a career-high of 23 points, which included a 9-for-19 mark from the field and a trio of three-pointers. Alijah Paquet also finished in double digits with 12 points, followed by the seventh double-double performance of the season from Jewelia Maniss (11 points, 14 rebounds).

The Bulldogs are slated to return to action after the holiday break with a two-day road trip to close out the non-conference slate. The trip starts at San Mateo College on December 29th and ends at Skyline College on December 30th.
