Women's Golf Places Fifth in Season Opener

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's golf program finished fifth out of seven in the season opener in the first Western State Conference meet, hosted at the Santa Barbara Golf Club. 

The Bulldogs finished the day with a final score of 381 in the program's first event in more than two decades. College of the Canyons won the event after shooting 325 while Santa Barbara City College landed in second with a final mark of 344.

Danica Black led the way for AHC after a final tally of 90, placing her tied for 12th overall. Sidney Pruett placed 18th after scoring 94, while Khloe Branch tied for 19th with a final score of 95. Other participants for the Hancock squad were Katrina Mata (102) and Nicole Lindner (104).

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Monday, September 19th, for the second WSC meet. The event, which will be hosted by Citrus College, will take place at the San Dimas Golf Course.
