Women's Soccer Bounces Back with Win at Cuesta

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer program got back on track with a league win in a road trip to Cuesta College on Friday evening. The conference victory moves Coach Vinnedge's squad to second in the league standings, behind Ventura's perfect 4-0 mark. | BOX SCORE

The Cougars (2-7, 1-3 WSC) took an early lead after netting a shot in the opening 10 minutes of action, but Hancock responded with a goal off the foot of Bianca Castaneda in the 29th minute and entered the intermission with a 1-1 draw. Brianna Gaona lifted the Bulldogs (4-5-1, 2-1 WSC) to victory after successfully converting a penalty kick in the 69th minute en route to the 2-1 victory.

As a team, the AHC outshot the host at a 14-10 margin while placing eight attempts on target. Jaelynn Guzman led the offensive attack with three shots, followed by Heleen Mott, Hope Smith, Emely Graciliano Sanchez, and Gaona who each registered two strikes. Ally Britt collected the win in the box after securing six saves through 90 minutes of play.

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Tuesday, October 12th, with a home showing against Santa Barbara at 2 PM.
