Leslie Ramirez Tabbed as Northern Santa Barbara County Female Athlete of the Week
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College women's soccer freshman defender, Leslie Ramirez, was recognized as the Northern Santa Barbara County Female Athlete of the Week.
The Cabrillo High School alum anchored the back line for the Bulldogs as the team earned two victories. Hancock started the week by forcing a 1-1 draw against defending state championship, Hartnell College, at home before closing the campaign with a 9-0 shutout victory on the road at Foothill College.
Ramirez tallied three assists on the week while the Bulldogs' defense limited opponents to just five shots on frame through two games. As a team, Hancock has registered 34 goals while allowing just seven goals against thus far. The Bulldogs currently lead the CCCAA with 193 shot attempts and are ranked 2nd in the state with 29 assists on the season.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action on September 27th and will host LA Pierce College for the conference opener at 4 PM on the AHC Soccer Field. The Brahmas are currently ranked at No. 18 in the latest edition of the United States Soccer Coaches Association Top 20 Poll.
