Women's Swim Notches Program-Best Finish at State Championship, Bravo Guzman Earns Individual Title

COSTA MESA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's swimming team raised the bar once again after participating for three days in the 3C2A State Swimming and Diving Championships at the Orange Coast College Aquatics Pavilion. | FULL RESULTS

The Bulldogs earned the highest team finish in program history after placing 12th place out of 35 teams with a final score of 130. Noemi Bravo Guzman headlined the weekend with an individual title after winning the 200-YD backstroke with an impressive time of 2:02.88. She becomes just the second women's swimmer on record to clinch an individual state title in any event, following in the footsteps of Izzie Fraire who won the 200-YD breaststroke back in 2019. Bravo Guzman was also a runner-up in both the 200-YD and 400-YD individual medley races.

Emma Marsalek closed out her sophomore campaign with a pair of third place performances in the 400-YD individual medley and the 1,650-YD freestyle while also taking fourth in the 500-YD freestyle. Jada Brown rounded out the top individual swimmers for Hancock by placing 14th in the 200-YD butterfly. 

AHC also saw three relay teams land in the top-15 at the event. The 400-YD freestyle relay and 800-YD freestyle relay - both comprised of N. Bravo Guzman, E. Marsalek, Kiana Cruz, J. Brown - took 13th and 10th, respectively. The 400-YD medley relay finished out the lineup with a 15th place performance.
