Track & Field Continues Action at WSC Coastal Meet
VENTURA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track and field program continued the spring slate by competing at the Western State Conference (WSC) Coastal Meet, hosted by Ventura College, on March 22nd. | FULL RESULTS
Both programs finished in fifth place out of six scoring teams. The women's 4x400 meter relay team headlined the day after picking up a fourth consecutive first place finish with a final time of 4:15.11. Individual runners on the relay team were Kiana San Juan, Maraitzel Moreno Gutierrez, Eva Luu, and Emily Carpenter. Luu also collected a runner-up finish in the 3,000-meter race and was third in the 1,500-meter run.
The men's team found success in the field events with four second place marks. Nasim Moody led the way with runner-up marks in both the long jump (6.55m) and the triple jump (13.18m). Erwin Taomi took second in the shot put with a heave of 13.07 meters while Chris Sapey finished second in the discus with a mark of 35.31 meters. Kollins Pettaway rounded out the top performers with a final time of 51.31 seconds in the 400-meter race, finishing just three seconds off of the top time.
