Men's & Women's Cross Country Opens Season at Tour de Cuesta

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's and women's cross country programs opened the 2021 campaign at the Tour de Cuesta on Friday afternoon, hosted by Cuesta College.

On the men's side, Luis Diaz led the pack for the Bulldogs with a No. 18 finish after clocking a time of 24:47. Orlando Marin crossed the line next with a 29th place finish (26:46), followed by Efrain Santos (34th | 28:40), Samuel Santos (38th | 33:00), and Armando Guzman (39th | 37:12). Sierra Skinner led the women's program after finishing at No. 20 with a time of 24:34, followed by Yasmin Mendez (22nd | 28:39), and Nicki Lucero (23rd | 28:53).

The men's program finished third out of three scored teams with 81 points. The women's team did not qualify for a team score. 

Both teams are set to return to action on Friday, September 3rd, at the Canyons Invitational. The race, hosted by College of the Canyons, is set to begin at 11 AM.
