Hancock Men's Basketball Heads North to Ohlone Tournament

After a 1-2 performance at Cuesta College's annual Rabobank Tournament, the Hancock men's basketball team will head to the Bay Area for a three-day tournament hosted by Ohlone College Thursday, Nov. 9, through Saturday, Nov. 11.

Hancock will open the three-day tournament against the College of Marin on Thursday at 3 p.m. Marin opened the season with a 77-75 loss at Skyline last week.

Last weekend, Hancock opened the season with a 79-68 win over West Hills Coalinga. Sophomore guard Shane Carney (Narbonne HS) led the way with 21 points. Sophomore transfer Kevin Baines (Richard CC) added 14 points, while Devin Davis (Colorado Northwestern College) added eight points and seven rebounds. Hancock followed that with a 74-73 loss to West Valley. Carney led the Bulldogs with 19 points, while Davis added 11 and freshman forward Spirit Ricks (Patterson HS) added 10 points. Freshman guard Glenn Jordan (Curtis HS) racked up nine points and seven assists. The Bulldogs closed the tournament with a 71-66 loss to College of the Sequoias, the No. 18 team in the preseason state poll. Jordan led the way with 13 points, while Davis and Ricks added 12 points apiece.

Carney was named to the All-Tournament Team after he averaged 16.3 points per game during the weekend.
