Behind Balanced Attack, Bulldog Basketball Routs Marin to Open Ohlone Tournament

Shane Carney scored a season-high 23 points, and Javae Lampkins poured in a career-high 22 points to lead the Allan Hancock College men's basketball team to a 113-78 win over College of Marin Thursday during opening day of a tournament hosted by Ohlone College. The Bulldogs evened their record at 2-2. Marin fell to 0-2.

Five Bulldogs scored 10 or more points in the win. Forward DJ Searcy scored a season-best 16 points and grabbed three rebounds. Freshman guard Glenn Jordan poured in 11 points and dished out four assists. Spirit Ricks finished with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Carney added seven assists and four rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Sophomore transfer Kevin Baines recorded eight points, seven rebounds and three assists. Freshman Diego Lucas, who came to Hancock from Italy, contributed five points, four rebounds and five assists.

Hancock advanced into the winner's bracket and will face either host Ohlone or Modesto on Friday at 7 p.m. Ohlone and Modesto will play this evening at 7 p.m.
