Bramble, Bondy Lead Bulldogs at Cuesta Invitational

Leanna Bramble, Natalie Bondy and Bailey Nelson scored points for the Allan Hancock College women's swim team during the two-day Cuesta Invitational. The trio of Bulldogs combined for a total of six Top 10 finishes in individual events and a total of 92 points. Overall, including relays, the Bulldogs finished with 130 total points for an 11th place finish out of 17 teams.

Bramble had three third place finishes and one fourth place finish in her four events. She finished third in the 50 yard breasstroke (32.68 seconds), third in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:10.24) and third in the 500 yard freestyle (5:28.41). The sophomore also placed fourth in the 200 yard breast (2:32.93). The three-time Western State Conference champion accounted for a total of 63 points.

Bondy, a freshman, finished seventh in the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 1:09.73 to earn 12 points. She also placed ninth in the 100 yard backstroke to pick up eight points with a time of 1:11.60. She also earned six points with an 11th place finish in the 50 yard breast when she was clocked in 35.45 seconds. Bondy racked up 26 total points by placing in three of her four events. She set season-best times in the 100 free and 100 IM events.

Nelson placed in the top 16 in two of her four events. She finsihed 16th to earn one point in the 1,650 yard freestyle with a time of 22:03.52. The Righetti High School graduate later earned two points with a 15th place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:13.53. Nelson recorded season-best times in the 200 back, 100 back and 500 free events.

Santa Rosa College won the women's team standings with a total of 859 points, followed by Sierra College (530), and San Joaquin Delta (480.5).
