Nelson and Bramble Win Two Events in Three-Way Meet

Sophomores Bailey Nelson and Leanna Bramble both won two individual events to highlight the Allan Hancock College women's swim team's performance on Friday during a three-way meet at Las Positas Community College. The Bulldogs fell 63-47 to Las Positas and 49-47 to De Anza.

Bramble won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.27 before she finished first by 14 seconds in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.40. Nelson won the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:38.77. Sophomore Caija McNeil finished third in the event with a time of 13:17.95. Nelson went on to take the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:07.85. McNeil was the runner-up at 6:24.03.

Other notable finishes included a runner-up finish in the 200 yard individual medley by Natalie Bondy with a time of 2:32.02. Bondy also finished fourth in the 100 yard backstroke (1:10.61).  Marissa Zubiate also finished fourth in the 200 yard freestyle (2:32.11).

The Bulldogs won the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:06.08, edging Las Positas by nearly 10 seconds.

The Bulldogs compete at the Chabot Invitational on Saturday, April 4.
