Kwong Wins Two Events, Hancock Finishes Third at WSC#3

Freshman Alexandria Kwong won two individual events, and Madalena Diaz and Rebecca Gonzalez earned top three finishes to lead the Allan Hancock College women's swim team during the third Western State Conference meet of the season on Friday. Cuesta College hosted the five-team meet. Santa Barbara and Ventura finished first and second in the team standings. Hancock finished third overall, followed by Cuesta and Bakersfield.

Kwong won the 200 yard butterfly (2:19.60) and 200 yard backstroke (2:17.98). The Orcutt Academy graduate won each event by nearly six seconds.

Diaz finished second in the 1,000 yard freestyle (11:42.55) and third in the 400 individual medley (5:08.44). Gonzalez finished third in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:42.85.

Hancock will compete in a dual at San Francisco City College on Friday, April 8. The Bulldogs will also swim at the Chabot College Invitational on Saturday, April 9.
