
Second Annual Home Motors Men's Basketball Tournament Runs Nov. 18-20
Six of the eight teams are ranked in preseason polls, including two squads ranked in the Top 15 in California.
The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team is ready to welcome a talented field that includes two Central Coast rivals and two teams ranked in the top 15 in the state. Hancock is hosting the Second Annual Home Motors Tournament on Friday, Nov. 18, through Sunday, Nov. 20. All games will be played inside Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
Hancock (3-3) will welcome Cuesta (2-1), Napa Valley (0-2), Yuba (2-1), Chabot (0-2), San Diego City College (4-2), Santa Barbara City (0-3), and Ohlone (5-1). Including Hancock, which is ranked No. 20 in the Southern California Preseason Poll, five of the eight teams are ranked. Ohlone is No. 14 in the State Preseason Poll and No. 7 in the Northern California Preseason Poll. Yuba is No. 4 in the state and No. 3 in NorCal polls. Cuesta is No. 15 and San Diego is No. 14 in the SoCal Preseason Poll.
The Bulldogs are off to a 3-3 start. Hancock went 2-1 at a Cuesta tournament the first week of the season, and finished fourth over the weekend at a tournament hosted by Chabot College. Sophomores Shane Carney and Marcellus Garrick have scored in double-digits in five of the team's first six games.
Action begins at 1 p.m. on Friday with Santa Barbara taking on Chabot College, followed by San Diego against Ohlone at 3 p.m. The host Bulldogs will battle Napa Valley at 5 p.m.on Friday before Cuesta and Yuba face off at 7 p.m. to close out the first day.
Saturday's schedule will include the consolation semifinals at 1 and 3 p.m. The championship semifinals will take place at 5 and 7 p.m. Sunday, the final day of the tournament, will include the consolation championship at 1 p.m., the third place game at 3 p.m. and the championship game at 5 p.m.
Tickets are $7 for adults, and $4 for seniors and children. Hancock students, faculty and staff receive free admission with proper identification.
The Hancock men will also host the 52nd annual AHC Holiday Tournament from December 28-30.
