Hancock Men Host Santa Monica on Wednesday, Dec. 7
After two weeks without a game, the Hancock men's basketball team (4-5) will return to action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, when they host Santa Monica. The Bulldogs will then travel to Cerritos for a 5 p.m. contest on Saturday, Dec. 10.
Nine games into the season, Garrick is the team's leading scorer at 13.8 points per game. Carney ranks second at 13.1 points to go with 2.6 steals, 3.6 rebounds and 4.2 rebounds per game. Lord and Jackson, both sophomore transfers, are averaging 9.6 points and 6.7 rebounds, and 9.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game respectively. Lord is shooting 39 percent and Carney is hitting 30 percent from 3-point territory.
Santa Monica enters the week 5-4. The Corsairs have four players averaging 10 points or more per game led by freshman Joe Robinson, who is averaging 15.8 points per game and averaging 36.5 percent from 3-point range. Jhamad Norwood averages 13.5 points and 10.8 rebounds, Dwight Murphy averages 13.4 points, and Brandon Russell scores 10.6 points per game. Santa Monica averages 82.9 points per game.
Cerritos starts the week 8-2 overall with five players averaging 10 points per game.
