Salisbury and Aldridge Finish in Top 20, Bulldogs Finish Sixth at WSC#2

Freshmen Matt Salisbury and Eddie Aldridge finished in the top 20 overall in the individual standings to help the Allan Hancock College men's golf team claim sixth place during the second Western State Conference tournament of the season on Monday.  Santa Barbara City College hosted WSC#2 at Alisal Ranch Golf Course in Solvang.

Aldridge, a St. Joseph High School graduate, shot a 10-over 82. Salisbury carded a nine-over 81 to lead the contingent of five Bulldogs in the field. Sophomore Jett Rugg fired an 84. Josiah Sanchez had the fourth best score for Hancock with a 90, while Daniel Nelson finished with a score of 102.

Mason Teron shot a two-over 74 to claim individual medalist honors for Ventura. His teammate Nick Burns was second with a 76.

Ventura posted a team score of 392 to finish three shots ahead of Santa Barbara City College and six better than College of the Canyons.  Hancock finished in sixth place with a total score of 439, 13 ahead of Antelope Valley, and 42 better than Citrus. Victor Valley finished ninth.

Hancock's next outing will be at the River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard next Monday at WSC#3 hosted by Ventura.
