MEN'S SOCCER DROPS 3-2 DECISION TO SPOKANE, FINISHES 4TH IN AHC TOURNEY; EVERGREEN TAKES TITLE
SANTA MARIA-- The Allan Hancock College men's soccer team fell to Spokane, WA Community College, 3-2, in the third-place match of the eight-team AHC Tournament, Sunday on the campus field. Evergreen Valley of San Jose beat Taft to take the title.
Hancock (1-3-0) fell to a 2-0 deficit on Spokane goals at the seventh and 20th minute. AHC's Mike Burford pulled the Bulldogs to within 2-1 with a goal off an assist from David Jauregui at the 31-minute mark.
Hancock's A.J. Gomez, John Boswell and Felix Rameriz teamed to tie the score at 2-2 in the 51st minute. Gomez's corner kick was headed by Boswell to Rameriz, who tucked it in the corner to pull the Bulldogs even. But AHC was held in check from that point on and Spokane scored the winning goal in the 71st minute on a free kick error.

Friday, Sept. 3 - Evergreen Valley 1, West Hills 1 (EV advance on penalty kicks); AHC 3, San Joaquin Delta 0; Taft 4, Ohlone 0.
Saturday, Sept. 4 - Santa Barbara 4, Spokane 2; Evergreen Valley 5, AHC 1; West Hills 7, Delta 0; Taft 4, Santa Barbara 1; Spokane 3, Ohlone 0.
Sunday, Sept. 5 - Spokane 3, AHC 2 (consolation title); Santa Barbara 5, West Hills 4 (third-place match); Evergreen Valley def. Taft, 1-1 (5-3 penalty kicks) in the championship final.
