MEN'S SOCCER ENDS DROUGHT WITH 1-0 WIN AT OXNARD
OXNARD-- Coach Al Garcia's Allan Hancock College men's soccer team posted its first win since Sept. 4 and first Western State Conference win of the season with a 1-0 win at Oxnard on Tuesday.
Hancock (2-13-2, 1-10-2 WSC) played a superb defensive game, highlighted by goal keeper George Hunter's second shutout of the season. Behind a hard working back line, Hunter made four saves to seal the one-goal win.
The Velasco brothers, Victor and Juan, teamed up for the game's loan goal in the 58th minute. The play was initiated by Victor's long lead pass to Juan, who juked the Condor goalie for the winning marghin.
The Bulldogs will host Glendale in a 3 p.m. start on Friday at the AHC campus field.
