MEN'S SOCCER HOLDS ON FOR A HOME CONFERENCE VICTORY

SANTA MARIA-- The Allan Hancock College men's soccer team scored a goal late and held on for a 2-1 victory over Citrus in a Western State Conference match.

Hancock (6-7-5, 4-4 WSC North) received a goal in the 81st minute from Edgar Miranda (Fr., Santa Maria HS) on a terrific cross-field pass from Juan Velasco (So., Santa Maria) to give the Bulldogs the winning goal after Citrus scored in the 64th minute to tie the score at one.

AHC had the only goal of the first half when Arturo Diaz (Fr., Arroyo Grande HS) scored on a pass from Tito Ponce (So., Santa Maria). The team ended a three game losing streak and set up an important conference home match against L.A. Mission on Friday, Oct. 28 at 4:00 p.m.
