SANTA MARIA-- Coach Al Garcia's Allan Hancock College men's soccer team posted a narrow 1-0 win over visiting Oxnard on Tuesday to remain unbeaten in conference play.
Hancock (4-3-5, 2-0-0 WSC) scored the lone goal of the contest in the 13th minute on a shot by Sal Gutierrez (Fr., Arroyo Grande). The play was set up by Gutierrez's former Eagle teammate, Arturo Diaz (Fr., Arroyo Grande), who was credited with an assist.
Once again, the Bulldogs played well defensively, allowing freshman goalkeeper Jose Perez (Santa Ynez) to record his fourth shutout of the year.
AHC will play at home again on Friday, as the Bulldogs host inter-county rival Santa Barbara City College on the campus field at 4 p.m.
