Men's Soccer Ranked Second in the State

            The Bulldog men’s soccer team is currently ranked second in the state and first in the Western State Conference after a very successful start to their season.  With two conference wins behind them already the team is 2-0 and 6-2 overall.  
            In their first conference game on Sept. 28, the Bulldogs beat Glendale 6-0. Rosario Bras (Santa Maria, CA) scored four goals. Servando Perez (Santa Maria, CA), and Juan Rubio (Santa Maria, CA)  each scored one goal. Nestor Alvarez (Santa Maria, CA) had two assists and Rubio, Perez, Martin Alvarez (Santa Maria, CA) and Felipe Sahagan (Guadalupe, CA) each had one assist.
            The Bulldogs beat College of the Canyons 2-0 on Friday, Oct. 1. Sahagun and Anthony Lang (Santa Maria, CA) each scored one goal and goalkeeper Brayan Rivas (Arroyo Grande, CA) had his first shutout of the season.
            Hancock trails behind Mt. San Antonio College in both the state and regional rankings. The Mt. San Antonio team is 7-0 and 1-0 in conference with 19 goals scored this season. The Bulldogs have scored 28 goals and allowed 14.
            The Hancock men’s soccer team plays at home Tuesday Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. against Moorpark College.
