Bulldogs Overcome Early Deficit, Force Draw at Moorpark

Goals by Oscar Muñoz-Quintana and Adrian Diaz helped the Allan Hancock College men's soccer team erase an early 2-0 deficit to force a 2-2 draw at Moorpark in a Western State Conference match on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs are 1-10-3 in conference action, while Moorpark remains winless in league at 0-10-3. The Bulldogs are 1-14-4 overall under first-year head coach Billy Vinnedge.

The Raiders stormed out to an early 2-0 lead behind Chris Rivera who netted goals in the seventh and 17th minutes against Hancock goalie Joel Diaz. The Bulldogs got on the board a few minutes before halftime when Muñoz-Quintana, a freshman, scored in the 38th minute on a ball assisted by fellow Arroyo Grande High School graduate Raul Muñoz. It was Muñoz-Quintana's fourth goal and Muñoz's second assist of the year.

Hancock trailed 2-1 at halftime, but scored the equalizer in the 52nd minute on Diaz's team-leading eighth goal of the season. Buddy Kichler and Juan Montano were credited with assists on the game-tying score.

The Bulldogs outshot the Raiders 12-10. Diaz, a freshman goalie, made eight saves for the Bulldogs.

Hancock closes the season next week with a match at Citrus on Tuesday, Nov.11, followed by a season-ending home match against Oxnard on Friday, Nov. 14.
