Diaz Scores All-Conference First Team Recognition, Four Other Bulldogs Honored

Adrian Diaz earned All-Conference First Team honors to lead a contingent of five Bulldogs who scored Western State Conference recognition.

Diaz, a freshman, led the Allan Hancock College men's soccer team with nine goals along with three assists this fall. The Cabrillo High School graduate finished fifth in the conference in goals scored.

Nipomo High School graduate Buddy Kichler and Arroyo Grande High School graduate Raul Munoz were named to the All-Conference Second Team. Kichler, a sophomore defender, finished with two goals and two assists. Munoz recorded one goal and three assists.

Jesus Valdez and Osvaldo Aquino, both freshmen defenders, received Honorable Mention. Valdez, a Nipomo High School graduate, scored once and dished out two assists in 15 games for the Bulldogs. Aquino, a Santa Maria High School graduate, helped to anchor the Hancock defense in 17 games this season.

Hancock finished eighth in the conference standings with a 1-12-3 record. The Bulldogs went 1-16-4 overall during the inaugural season of head coach Billy Vinnedge.
