Guzman's and Paredes' First Collegiate Goals Deliver 2-1 Road Win for Hancock Men's Soccer

Freshmen Jorge Guzman and Carlos Paredes scored their first collegiate goals as the Allan Hancock College men's soccer team edged College of the Sequoias in Visalia on Tuesday afternoon.

Hancock evened its record at 1-1, while College of the Sequoias fell to 0-2-1.

The Bulldogs outshot the Giants 17 to five. Ten of the Bulldogs' attempts were shots on goal.

Hancock struck first in the 32nd minute on Paredes' first goal of the season. The freshman midfielder and Pioneer Valley High School graduate scored on a ball assited by Mario Ramos. The Bulldogs led 1-0 into the second half until Guzman's goal made it a 2-0 Hancock advantage. Guzman, a Righetti High School graduate, led the Bulldogs with four shots in the match.

The Giants scored their lone goal in the 82nd minute on a ball from Daniel Villareal.

The Bulldogs return home to host Victor Valley on Friday, September 4.
